Antique 9ct. yellow gold, sapphire, diamond and pink topaz insect brooch. The gemset insect is finely crafted in 9ct. yellow gold. The eyes of the insect are bezel set with two cabochon cut round natural pink sapphires, the thorax of the insect is set with a natural rose cut diamond, the abdomen of the insect is set with a round natural pink topaz. Eight old mine cut diamonds are grain set into the insect's wings. The insect rests on a 9ct. yellow gold pin. English, Circa 1890. The insect measures 15mm x 25mm. The pin measures 43mm x 4mm.
