Restoration and Repairs

Gray Reid Gallery specialises in the expert restoration of fine antique and vintage jewellery. Our workshops take pride in restoring a treasured piece of jewellery back towards its original condition, including the matching of gemstone cuts and traditional jewellery making techniques. Our jewellers are trained in all the traditional techniques of jewellery restoration and repair. We offer a secure workshop of jewellers.

Redesign and Remodelling

Our experienced team of designers can breathe new life into jewellery you may no longer wear. We are able to redesign your existing pieces to create something new to be enjoyed. In the remodelling process, we are able to recycle or offset existing gemstones and precious metals. This also applies to all items of odd, broken and damaged precious metals.

Pearl and Bead Threading Service

Pearls, gems and beads are cleaned and hand threaded onto silk and a variety of other cords and cables by our pearl and bead specialist. A variety of clasps and embellishments are available in precious metals and can be gem set.

Valuations

We offer a valuation service for jewellery, gemstones and silverware. Our registered valuers will issue a detailed description and photograph of the item as a printed legal document. Valuations for insurance and probate are available. We recommend regular inspections and updated valuations of your items. All items left with Gray Reid Gallery are covered by our insurance. An express valuation service is available upon request. Valuations prices depend upon complexity of the item and start from $140.00.

Consignment and Purchase

Gray Reid Gallery as a licenced second hand dealer, offers a consignment service for fine jewellery, silver and object d’art that fit within our collection. We also purchase such items. Exchange or part exchange may be accepted against Gray Reid Gallery stock.

Lay-by

Our lay-by terms require a 20% deposit and collection within 8 weeks or by prior agreement. As members of the Jewellers Association of Australia, we adhere to its code of practice. For further information, please contact the JAA for full terms and conditions. We accept payment by PayPal, Lati Pay, WeChat Pay and ALIPAY.
